| TOUR SUMMARY |

From the mountains and jungles of the North to the temple
filled central plains and ending in the bustling Metropolis of Bangkok
this tour offers some great cycling, unforgettable scenery and a great
cultural experience.
We start in the northern city of Chiang Mai before we start
heading south and visit the historic cities of Sukhothai,
Khampeng Phet and Ayutthaya. In between We pass through
provincial Thailand where rural life is the norm and so makes a
pleasant contrast to the bustling cities that we start and end in. |

RIDING PROFILE |
This is a road tour designed for riders with a reasonable level of
fitness as we ride everyday and some of the distance are quite long.
We ride approx 980 km and this is on all tarmac and predominantly
flat.
We are shadowed by a well-equipped escort vehicle and our guides have
powerful two-way radios. The first 2 days have some hill climbs but
they are not to challenging as they are not steep or very long,
participants should be confident of their physical condition and bike
handling skills. |

| ITINERARY |
| Day 1
|
Chiang Mai 70 km [L,D]
Arrive in Chiang Mai transfer to hotel and prepare bikes.
Afternoon ride to San Kamphaeng. |

| Day 2
|
Chiang Mai – Lampang 103 km [B,L,D]
Head to Lampang on old Chiang Mi highway – tree lined
boulevard. A few hills before we reach Thailands cowboy town,
Lampang. |

| Day 3
|
Lampang – Uttaradit 141 km [B,L,D]
We pass over the foot hills surrounding Chiang mai on our way
to Uttaradit. We pass through some teak forests reclining bhuddas
and some beautiful temples. |

| Day 4
|
Uttaradit – Sukothai 98 km [B,L,D]
A real off the beaten track ride as we head towards Sukothai.
We ride secluded roads that have some shade due to the palm tress
that line the roads. We pass through agricultural area so plenty
of paddy fields as finish in the first capital of Thailand –
Sukothai. |

|
Sukothai 30 km [B,L,D]
We have an easy day as we have an optional ride round this
once great city. If you do not want to cycle you can take a
leisurely stroll round the grounds or simply relax at the hotel. |

| Day 6
|
Sukothai – Khampheng Phet 82 km [B,L,D]
Today we head to one of the lesser visited places but still
equally as interesting as Sukothai. Being less visited gives this,
some people an edge over Sukothai. It is also not as well
preserved or maintained as it more popular neighbour but this is
what gives it, it’s charm. |

| Day 7
|
Khampeng Phet – Nakorn Sawan 122 km [B,L,D]
We now head into the heartland of Thailand, full of fruit orchards
, paddy fields. This si an area not visited by many tourists
epecially not ones on bikes. |

| Day 8
|
Nakorn Sawan – Singburi 138 km [B,L,D]
As we leave the north behind and start seeing more
industrialisation and less agriculture. but this is still a
pleasant ride on minor roads that pass through many small
villages. |

| Day 9
|
Singburi – Ayutthaya 90 km [B,L,D]
We reach the old capital of Siam – Ayuthaya, A UNESCO site
that boast some fine examples of temples within easy reach of your
hotel. |

| Day 10
|
Ayutthaya – Bangkok – 60 km [B,L,D]
Our last biking days takes down to the throbbing Metropolis of
Bangkok. We ride the back roads stooping in the North of Bangkok
before transferring the last few km’s to or hotel and a
celebratory farewell dinner |

Surfaces range from good asphalt roads and
vehicle-width tracks to off-road trails, to rough tracks and
single tracks, some of which may be steep and rutted so some
off-road riding skills are an advantage. |
