| TOUR SUMMARY |
| This tour starts in the historical city of Sukhothai which
came to prominence in the 13 and 14th century and this period is
generally viewed as the Golden Age of Thai civilisation. We cycle
round the ruined cities of Sukothai and its less well known neighbour
Si – Satchanalai. From here he head north to the magical city
of Chiang Mai, but on the way there we cycle on the old historical
route that joined these two great cities. We take in Ob Luang
National Park full of wildlife and a gorge that is framed by a
teak forest. We ride up the wonderful Mae Ping valley on our
way to Doi Inthanon the highest peak in Thailand. After
reaching Chiang Mai we have a chance to ride along the Mae
Ping river to the Thai handicraft centre at Ban Tawai to
satisfy any shopping urges. In the evening we have a farewell dinner
by the riverside – a fitting end to a wonderful experience! |
